Terms and Conditions

Scout is an online marketplace that connects individuals seeking assistance with practical tasks ("Service Seekers") with individuals who offer their skills and services ("Skill Providers"). Scout acts solely as a technology intermediary facilitating introductions between users. We do not employ, endorse, supervise, direct, or control any Skill Provider, and we are not a party to any agreement formed between Service Seekers and Skill Providers.

All services arranged through Scout are performed by independent individuals, not by Scout. Skill Providers are solely responsible for the quality, safety, legality, and completion of any work they undertake.

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use the Platform. By using Scout, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate, complete, and current.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account. Scout is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in conduct that harms the Platform or other users.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Scout, its directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, and licensors shall not be liable for:

• Any physical injury, bodily harm, illness, or death arising from services arranged through the Platform, whether caused by a Skill Provider, a Service Seeker, or any third party.
• Any property damage or loss, including but not limited to damage to your home, equipment, belongings, or any other asset, resulting from services performed by a Skill Provider.
• Any financial loss, including payments made to Skill Providers outside the Platform, fraud, or disputes between users.
• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profit, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform.
• The conduct, acts, or omissions of any user of the Platform, whether online or offline.
• Any inaccurate, misleading, or false information provided by users, including but not limited to listings, profiles, bids, and reviews.
• Any failure or delay in the performance of our obligations resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control.

Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Platform shall not exceed the greater of SGD 50 or the total fees (if any) paid by you to Scout in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

Scout does not verify the qualifications, licences, certifications, identity, background, or insurance status of any Skill Provider. You are solely responsible for conducting your own due diligence before engaging any Skill Provider.

As a user of Scout, you agree that you will:

• Use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
• Not post content that is false, misleading, defamatory, obscene, discriminatory, or in violation of any applicable law.
• Not share contact information, solicit off-platform transactions, or attempt to circumvent the Platform to avoid fees or obligations.
• Not use the Platform to harass, abuse, threaten, or harm any person.
• Take reasonable steps to ensure your own safety and the safety of others when engaging in services arranged through Scout.

If you are a Skill Provider, you represent that you have the necessary skills, experience, tools, and (where required) licences or permits to perform the services you offer, and that you will perform those services safely, professionally, and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.

If you are a Service Seeker, you acknowledge that you are engaging an independent individual — not a professional agency — and that outcomes may vary. You agree to take reasonable precautions when allowing individuals access to your premises or property.

Scout is currently free to use. Creating an account, posting job requests, listing services, placing bids, and connecting with other users carries no charge at this time.

We reserve the right to introduce fees for certain features or activities at any point in the future. This may include, but is not limited to, charges for posting or renewing service listings, subscription tiers with enhanced features, or transaction-based fees. We will provide reasonable notice of any new charges before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after such notice constitutes your acceptance of the updated fee structure.

Any transactions for services are conducted directly between Service Seekers and Skill Providers. Scout is not responsible for the collection, handling, or safeguarding of any payments made outside the Platform.

Ratings and reviews submitted on Scout are based on users' personal experiences and opinions. Scout does not verify the accuracy of reviews and is not responsible for their content. Reviews, once submitted, are immutable and cannot be edited or deleted. We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate these Terms.

All content on the Platform produced by Scout, including the name, logo, design, text, and software, is owned by or licensed to Scout and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from such content without our prior written consent.

By posting content on the Platform (including listing descriptions, job requests, profile information, and reviews), you grant Scout a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, and distribute such content for the purposes of operating and promoting the Platform.

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using Scout, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described therein.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Scout and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the Platform; (b) your breach of these Terms; (c) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; or (d) any dispute between you and another user.

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. Scout does not endorse, control, or assume any responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites. Your interactions with third parties are solely between you and those parties.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time without notice or liability. We may also update these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be available on this page, with the effective date updated accordingly. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be referred to mediation. If the dispute is not resolved through mediation within 30 days, it shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
